 Here at Jends Creatives we care very deeply for the environment and like to reflect that in very many ways.

A lot of the charity work that we are doing is environment based such as #teamseas and #teamtrees and a percentage of the sales from each shop as we get them set up will be allocated towards a different charity.

#teamseas removed 1pound of rubbish from the ocean for every $1 donated.

There are other things that we do as a business to make our whole work as environmentally friendly as possible. For example we try not to use too much plastic in our packaging. Where we have to use plastic bags, we offer a stamp type system for the return of the bags so that we can reuse them.

One of the products that we sell are plastic canvas cross stitch kits. Lots of people said that was bad because of the use of plastic, but people don't always separate the dangerous single use plastic with the kind of plastic that can be used again and again. 

Single use plastic is very hard to dispose of without huge environmental consequences.

The canvas that we use for our cross stitch kits is the second kind and along the way we are hoping to find a way to actually melt down all the left over bits of plastic and use that to make more sheets of canvas or even something else. 

Our boxes are from the Tiny Box Company and are both recycled and recyclable. In the cushion kits we will be selling the stuffing is made from a material that uses shredded recycled plastic.

 

We very much love Mother Earth and everything on her, so we are going to try to help people to make different choices in terms of their own plastic recycling systems by creating articles and videos about upcycling waste plastic such as bottles. That is a future system however, and we will let you know more about that over time.

The yarn we use in our sewing kits is always 100% cotton, making it perfect for vegans and better in terms of our carbon footprint.

We believe it is the little things that are important, not just the major events such as #teamseas, but in our every day choices and decisions, so as well as our mission to help people smile more, we also want to help save the planet in all its diversity.
